Hello readers... meaning maybe 3 people (lol).
Final Fit Test. I think it might be a little bit of a cheat... since it's been a week since I've completed a workout. Pretty busy the past week... but finally did it. They say the last mile is the toughest right? I know mentally I wasn't there... or here... just not motivated. But today finally finished! O_O My results were pretty awesome too. Here they are with comparisons.
Exercise ==> Fit Test 1 ~ 2 ~ 3 ~ 4 ~ 5 (Final)
1. Switch Kicks => 150 ~ 120 ~ 150 ~ 150 ~ 156
2. Power Jacks => 61 ~ 71 ~ 65 ~ 64 ~ 72
3. Power Knees => 113 ~ 118 ~ 122 ~ 121 ~ 137
4. Power Jumps => 51 ~ 57 ~ 55 ~ 66 ~ 58
5. Globe Jumps => 10 ~ 14 ~ 13 ~ 13 ~ 14
6. Suicides => 23 ~ 22 ~ 22 ~ 23 ~ 28
7. Push-up Jacks => 25 ~ 22 ~ 22 ~ 23 ~ 20
8. Low Plank Oblique Knees => 70 ~ 92 ~ 90 ~ 106 ~ 108
Overall improvement! Not the best scores out of all my scores... example: I did 8 more power jumps 2 weeks ago compared to this week... but still improvement. I did remember resting a long time during that one. I pushed 45 consecutive jumps... then rested until the last 10 seconds to do 13 more jumps. @_@
I do think I have an improved cardio... but in general, I know I am not built to be an endurance aerobic athlete. Last year we did a test in my Strength and Conditioning class... (can't find the results now), but I was the girl with the highest percentage of fast twitch in the class of athletes *proud moment* (... and the shortest). Not enough to be an ultra athlete... but I know what type of training is best for me... and need adequate "rest intervals" to give 100%. Need that phosphocreatine to replenish!
That's my little bit of exercise science for you there...
But I really enjoyed Insanity. I will continue to do the workouts at my own leisure... whenever I feel the need to kick my own butt. For now though... I will focus more on running... a goal of mine is to complete a half-marathon, start lifting weights again (my back is really weak)... and (lol) get back up on the pole! It's hard to train for other things when you're beating your body with Insanity.
Here's a random pole pic of me from a year ago. T_T
So!!! Try it out for yourself! Go at your own pace. It's a fun workout.
Just be warned... it's pretty insane!
A work-out diary for a girl who's obsessed with details, organization, and progress.

Day 50: Fit Test #4
O_O
Switch Kicks: 150 kicks
Same as Day 1 and Day 37 results! Surprising! I thought I would be fatigued and wouldn't be able to get this amount. So good job. But! I don't know if it's me... or the warm-up is too short... or my stomach problems... maybe the combination of everything. I feel sick. Cold sweat sick. Like I did too much too fast. Stomach feels real uneasy. =(
Power Jacks: 64 jacks
Still feeling sick! Had a pretty decent numbers for this exercise too. Surprised! Still cold sweat.
Power Knees: 121 right knees
One less than last week! O_O Surprised. Everything is surprised. I guess it's a little easier than I thought to mentally block out things. It did bother me, but seeing the results pleasantly surprised!
Power Jumps: 66 jumps
REALLY? Started out at 51, moved up to 57, down to 55... and today was 66!? Are you kidding? I was able to push through 40 jumps consecutively. Then took a long break and did the last 26 until the end. Big big surprise!
Globe Jumps: 13 "around the worlds"
One less revolution compared to last two weeks... but still pretty good. I think the fatigue from the Power Jumps made me a little tired. But still better compared to week 1! *happy*
Suicides: 23 "burpees"
Surprised! I did one more in comparison to two weeks ago! Was so tired, but pushed through.
Push-up Jacks: 25 push-ups
Still hate these. lol. *fighting them* Wah!
Low Plank Oblique Knees: 106 knees
Last One!!! Tired! Surprised I was able to pull the strength to do this many. I mean... serious? I felt so tired and sick during other exercises... but good job me!
Rest time... then more Insanity!!!
Max Interval Circuit next!

Day 37: Fit Test # 3
Sorry, stomach still not 100% and still a little bloated. So measurements and photos will be done tomorrow (most likely).
Today's Fit Test results!!!
Switch Kicks: 150 kicks
Yay! Day 1 results. Although I'm sure I kicked higher today in comparison to Day 1. Rest makes a difference.
Power Jacks: 65 jacks
Started feeling sick immediately after Switch Kicks actually. I mentioned eating cheese the other day and feeling sick. My stomach felt like it dropped and wasn't happy. Not happy at all. Went down compared to last week, but still better than Day 1.
Power Knees: 122 right knees
Wow up. I did rest a bit and paused the DVD after Power Jacks because I was worried I was going to faint. I thought about it... and 30 seconds to rest is not enough time really for a "max" test. I know it's not "strength" but it's still a "max" test. Typically "max" tests require about 2-6 minutes of rest.
Power Jumps: 55 jumps
I seriously don't know how I pushed through this. The rest of the workout was all mental. *dies*
Globe Jumps: 13 "around the worlds"
Still kept results pretty good so far. I did rest an extra minute in between exercises. Not going to faint!
Suicides: 22 "burpees"
Same number as 2 weeks ago! *happy* Still feel like dying. They looked really weak I bet... but it's okay.
Push-up Jacks: 17 jacks
I don't know. Going downhill. 25 to 21 to 17. Wah... I'm surprised! I know I'm dying, but I was able to push through all the other exercises. My arms really just felt noodley and tired.
Low Plank Oblique Knees: 90 knees
Last exercise. I was able to push through to complete this. Down 2 repetitions... but still big improvement compared to Day 1.
Max Interval Circuit today also!!!
How will I survive? Time for rest then workout time!

Day 15: Fit Test #2
Switch Kicks: 120 kicks in one minute
I am going down hill! LOL. I did 150 the first day. My legs just felt so heavy. I did 100 consecutive... then took a long long break. I probably shouldn't have... but so tired! I didn't count any of the ones that didn't go above my waist. So I did kick more than 120, but I didn't count cheaters. Next time!!! I will be rested enough that my legs don't feel like bricks.
Power Jacks: 71 Squats
YES! I rock! I did 61 the first Fit Test. 10 more! I'm pretty sure I can do more also! Next time!
Power Knees: 118 knees (right knee)
From 113 to 118! Up by 5! Again, had to pause the DVD to do 118 on the left side as well so I wouldn't feel lopsided. These weren't so bad. But it looked funny when I did the left knee... my right thigh was so tired, it was hard to stabilize to do the left-side power knees.
Power Jumps: 57 jumps
Improvement!!! Some reason these felt really easy. Surprisingly easy, especially after "switch kicks" were such a challenge. I improved from 51 to 57. I think I did maybe 30 or 40 consecutive w/o breaks... then took a long break, then started back up without stopping.
Globe Jumps: 14 "around the worlds"
YAY! I wasn't super dying like last time. I did get tired, these are very fatiguing, but I went from 10 "around the worlds" to 14! That's not just 4 more jumps, but 16 more jumps! I was moving very quick in the beginning, then developed a rhythm; got tired, but pushed until the end without breaking (unlike last Fit Test). *proud*
Suicides: 22 burpees
WAH. Went down by 1. 23 last time, 22 this time. Next time. I felt pretty strong on these... but I stopped to take my socks off after 15. Oops. Remind me to be prepared next time. ** I wear socks and do my exercises on a cushioned mat, but did my first Fit Test on a wooden surface with shoes. Testing error!
Push-up Jacks: 21 push-ups
Oops, went down by 4. It's ok though. I really tried to keep my form awesome... but was just so tired. What's wrong body? Maybe it's the gloomy weather!
Low Plank Oblique Knees: 92 knees
I don't even know how I did these. I was complaining to my brother how I think these look funny and how I feel awkward doing them. But I kept moving. I like quick fast movements. Good job me! From 70 to 92!
So although my anthropomorphic measurements don't show results (except my boobs getting smaller and my butt getting bigger LOL), these show I am increasing my muscular endurance! Not fatiguing as quickly as I used to. Now to just improve on the ones I decreased in!
I wonder how many people are in my shoes... where they actually don't see improvements... LOL. It's difficult with all the fatigue sometimes... Must make sure to rest!
Need that supercompensation!

Day 6: Oops! Fit Test # 2
*** EDIT!!! 2010-09-14 12:49a ***
Hahahah! So I was confused about my workout order... apparently... the calendar is important! The guy I bought the program from didn't give me the calendar. I guess I should have looked up a little harder when searching right?
SO! I don't have to complete the Fit Test today. I am supposed to complete it every 2 weeks.
*** end EDIT ***
So I thought "Core Balance" was a work out... but it's a workout in between month 1 and 2. I feel pretty good today. Maybe 3% of soreness in calves. So... instead of waiting for a day to do the Fit Test... I thought I'd do it today.
Switch Kicks: 137 kicks
Rar. Okay... I am tired. 13 kicks less compared to last week. Maybe I should have taken that day break before this fit test ^^;;; Oh well, next time I'll have a sandwiched "Fit Test" day. Also... I don't know how much you can improve from my original 150 kicks in one minute... but I will! Thank you Taekwondo and Wushu training.
Power Jacks: 64 power jacks
Yay! 3 more than last time. Although I do think >1 power jack per second is pretty good right? I think so. You can tell I'm slowing down a bit at the end. Time to improve next time! Check out the end of this entry because I took a video of myself doing power jacks.
Power Knees: 104 knees (right)
Wah. 113 last week. 8 less. A little fatigue. Tanya (on the DVD) did 126... so I can improve! I did feel a heavy right thigh. Again, I hate that it's just one side. Paused the DVD to do the left side so I wouldn't feel lopsided. ^^;
uh oh. break time!
One of my seniors (citizens) that I was supposed to have lunch with... in 50 minutes called and asked to have lunch 30 minutes early because she forgot she had an appointment that day. Oops. It's ok because she's a super sweet lady.
So saved for now, but will edit later. Will work out after I'm done digesting. *full*
Check me out doing a max text for power jacks!
Again ~ sorry for the dark video, but you can see my silhouette. It's looks okay when I'm close up, but once I walk away... dark video. Oh well... next time for sure... video in the master bedroom! *fail*
*** EDIT *** What? I actually watched it. It's really dark. darker than I thought. O_O real dark.

Fit Test: Day 1
Switch Kicks: 150 kicks in one minute
I watched this one the DVD yesterday so I could be mentally prepared today. I used to do martial arts (Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Wushu)... so quick kicks really aren't a problem. The problem is that I haven't done martial arts in a few years. So.... once I got to 100... I got pretty fatigued. T__T lack of endurance. Fast-twitch muscles don't fail me now!
Power Jacks: 61 Squats
A jumping jack plus a squat! One of my least fave exercises. At the very least I did one per second. So I don't feel so bad.
Power Knees: 113 knees (right knee)
Knees to belly button on the side. Not bad, but only one side... so I felt lopsided after and had to do my left side.
Power Jumps: 51 jumps
This is no joke. Especially after doing power knees and power jacks. I did about 20 consecutively, then had to rest. After I would bust about 10-15 more followed by rest again. Until the one minute was over. No joke!
Globe Jumps: 10 "around the worlds"
Serious? I got to 9 then decided to rest (why? mine was not being strong enough)... then realized I was winded so I just stopped. After Shaun T said "do one more" I thought I can do 3 more in this time... but I had mentally stopped and only continued to do one more when there was 5 sec left on the clock. Fail.
Suicides: 23 burpees
"Suicides" sound a lot more intense than "Burpees" right? In tennis, we called sprints with directional changes "suicides"... so I'll call them burpees.
Push-up Jacks: 25 push-ups
Wide-push-ups plus a wide jump with the feet. Push-ups have been my weak point the past year since I injured my shoulder last year. Just recently I've been able to do full push-ups without pain... so! I'm pretty proud.
Low Plank Oblique Knees: 70 knees
I think I could have gotten more... but I took my socks off halfway through. Oops. I kept sliding on my mat. Oh well. Next time!
Fit Test done!
For my first fit test, I am happy that my results were comparable to the "models/athletes" Shaun T had on the DVD. I am a little disappointed in the fact that I know how "in-shape" I was when I was in training/athletic mode. Hopefully this will motivate me to be more active!
